Call for entries - Nuit blanche Kyoto en Résidence

Until May 1st 2025

For all French artists and creators or those based in France for at least five years who already have established links with Japan.

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, and in collaboration with a new project by the city of Kyoto entitled "in Residence", the Nuit Blanche Kyoto enters into residence - an opportunity to discover the new Franco-Japanese art scene in full emulation at the heart of creative places steeped in history: Kyoto's artist residences.

It's also an opportunity for French artists and designers to enjoy a period of immersion and dissemination in the heart of Japan's cultural city.

Do you already have a project linked to Japan? Would you like to finalize a collaboration or research project and present your work at a Franco-Japanese art festival? This call for applications is for you!

  • Two programs are proposed as part of this call for applications.
  • Benefit from a unique experience in Kyoto (immersion) and share your artistic work with the public (diffusion) during the festival.

Maxime Bellaunay, a former resident of Les Ateliers de Paris and beneficiary of the pilot program last January, illustrates the opportunities offered by this initiative.

Inspired by the Parisian version born in 2002, "La Nuit Blanche" is a festival of contemporary creation that takes place every autumn in the city of Kyoto. Every year, theInstitut français du Kansai joins forces with the city of Kyoto to celebrate the richness of Franco-Japanese artistic exchanges through this festival.
