Call for applications - Art Masters - Students program

Preparation of an application with the Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français for the next selection of the Maîtres d'art - Élèves class.

Launched in 1994 by the French Ministry of Culture, the title of Maître d'art is awarded by the Minister of Culture to professionals in the arts and crafts for their rare expertise, their high level of technical skill and their willingness to pass on their knowledge.

The Maîtres d'art - Élèves program facilitates the transmission of know-how and encourages the development of new professional identities, ensuring the continuity and renewal of rare skills. Unique in Europe, it helps preserve and renew skills often taught in only a few workshops or companies.

To enter the program, candidates must be paired up with a transmission project and a professional project. Professional objectives may include taking over a company, developing a business, or acquiring skills for a key position.

The application, to be written in pairs, includes :

- the know-how of the Master of Art candidate,

- the transmission project,

- the student's career plan.

Supporting documents are also required to assess the economic health of the Master craftsman's business or the structure hosting the transmission, as well as the professional stability of the student. Candidates may be self-employed or salaried.

The next call for applications will be open from January to March 2025, with selected professionals joining the program on January 1, 2026, for a 3-year period.
