Yiqing Yin, winner of the Grands Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris 2009, exhibited at the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode.

From June 14, 2025 to January 4, 2026, the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode in Calais is devoting an exhibition to Yiqing Yin. Entitled D'air et de songes, this immersive proposition explores the dense, sensitive universe of the designer, at the crossroads of haute couture, art installation and performance.

A graduate of ENSAD, Yiqing Yin was awarded the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris in 2009. That same year, her graduation collection attracted attention, and in 2010, her work was presented at the Festival international de la mode et de la photographie d'Hyères. In 2011, she shows for the first time at Paris Haute Couture Week. She became a "guest member" of the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture in 2012, and her house was awarded the "haute couture" designation in 2015 - a first for a designer of Chinese origin.

D'air et de songes retraces the career of this multi-disciplinary artist who, over the years, has built up a profoundly organic body of work. Sculptural dresses, visual archives, sound materials and olfactory wisps make up a journey in which each creation acts as a moving landscape. The exhibition focuses on the creative process, the emergence of form, the unexpected, and the constant interaction between body, textile and environment.

Inspired by the mineral, plant and animal kingdoms, Yiqing Yin develops an aesthetic of metamorphosis, where the fragility of the human being dialogues with the powers of the living. Yiqing Yin's work also extends beyond fashion, with artistic direction for Léonard and Poiret, collaborations with Cartier, Vacheron Constantin and Dominique Ropion, and creations for dance, film and stage.

With this exhibition, the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode invites you to plunge into a sensory universe, between daydreams and living matter.
