Self-taught, Miyouki Nakajima explores and reinterprets the art of floral adornment with a modern vision, combining the spirits of Japan and France. At the heart of her approach are the memory and impermanence of nature. Moving away from the realism typical of floral ornaments, she translates a fleeting trace through organic or abstract forms.
Her creations are made from natural mineral pigments, Japanese ink and the alliance of silk with various materials (plaster, paper, fibers, earth). She has collaborated with jewelers Boucheron and Mikimoto, the fashion house Fendi, and the Cheval Blanc Paris luxury hotel.
