Know-How Transmission Award
The Savoir-faire en transmission awards allow young adults or adults in retraining to perfect their craft training during a full-time internship in the workshop of a craftsperson for one year.
Awarded each year by the City of Paris, they are endowed with €10,000 per winner.
Presentation of the scheme
Intended for students, graduates and adults undergoing retraining, the Know-How Transfer Awards provide an opportunity to gain significant professional experience with concrete projects, to perfect know-how
and to observe the day-to-day running of a company.
Each candidate must first make arrangements with an experienced craftsman or craftswoman, whose workshop is in Paris or in the inner suburbs, where they can gain a better understanding of the specificities of the trade for which they are destined, and of the realities of the life of a company. In the case of rare trades, the host company may be located outside the Île de France. The 12-month internships begin in January or April, depending on the winner's choice.
For the 2023 edition, 23 prizes were awarded by the City of Paris and by the sponsors: the Rémy Cointreau Foundation, the Michelle and Antoine Riboud Foundation, the 19 M, the French Federation of Leather Goods and the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp via the Endowment Fund for the Ateliers de Paris

Winners are selected primarily on the basis of the coherence of their career path, their motivation and the quality of their professional project, without any specific age or diploma requirements.
