WARMI war(mie) means woman in Quechua, one of the last living indigenous languages of the Andean region.
In search of a subtle balance between the authentic and the contemporary, with an obsession for noble materials and a fascination for artisanal techniques, Sylvia Toth, Franco-Colombian and creator of WARMI, conceives her pieces more as objects than as garments. She imagines her collections as a series of complements or units (breast collars, burster, shoulder tabs, anklets...) that finish a garment and typify an outfit. The emphasis is on mixing textures and volumes by playing with scales: a mini globe skirt, a maxi neck rope...
