Portrait of a resident - Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot

Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot founded AC/AL in 2013, a design studio dedicated to creating products that enhance use and function through clean lines.

Laurent Cazot

AC/AL is a design studio founded in Paris in 2013 by Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot. Passionate about materials, artisanal skills and industrial manufacturing processes, the complementary duo focus on designing products that enhance use and function through clean lines, paying particular attention to every detail.
Two years after the studio was founded, Amandine and Aïssa joined Les Ateliers de Paris.

Immersing themselves in contexts with diverse needs and constraints, Amandine and Aïssa develop an approach specific to each project, with the constant aim of rationality and accuracy of form. They favor a pragmatic approach in which prototyping and model-making are key elements, in constant dialogue with drawing and 3D modeling. With a high level of involvement and rigor at every stage of the project, the studio manages collaborations ranging from art direction to the design of spaces and products, whether related to the fields of industry or craft.

Since 2009, Amandine and Aïssa have also been involved in the development of i.d.o, a non-profit association and collaborative interdisciplinary platform dedicated to offering skills in design and architecture, in order to develop and support solidarity projects in emerging and developing countries.

Edo Tokyo Kirari program: AC/AL x KIMOTO Glass - SENS collection

AC/AL took part in the Edo Tokyo Kirari program, an international cooperation program supported by the cities of Tokyo and Paris, which brings together art and craft professionals from Tokyo and designers from the Bureau du Design, de la Mode et des Métiers d'Art network. Its aim is to renew the offer of Japanese professionals and enable Parisian designers to discover Japanese know-how.

The studio collaborated with Kimoto Glass to create the SENS collection. Inspired by simple geometric volumes, the SENS collection enhances the ritual of sake tasting. Comprising a decanter and two conically-shaped glasses, the set preserves the quality of the taste aromas on the lower part, while offering an olfactory experience on the upper part. The thick base, a signature of Kimoto Glass' craftsmanship, enhances the weight of the objects and the delicacy of the ritual gesture.
