Portrait of a resident - Guillaume Larquemain

Fashion accessories designer and resident at Les Ateliers de Paris since September 2021, Guillaume Larquemain cultivates a multidisciplinary creative approach. Fashion is a particularly fertile field of experimentation to imagine accessories, scenographies and to propose a complete universe by collaborating with photographers.

Sensitive to new materials, he chose apple canvas as his signature material.

What interests him with this bio-material is to bring a look of excellence on a common natural resource. To create his collection of mixed accessories, Guillaume takes macroscopic photographs of the imperfections of apple skin. He digitizes them and reproduces these patterns on the matte canvas. Each mini bag has a random and unique design. What if the new luxury lay in the expression of our imperfections?

A MINIMALIST SILHOUETTE

The identity of his eponymous brand is inspired by the apple seed. Rather than using standard pieces, he develops custom-made snaps with this seed shape. The mini bag is matched with asymmetrical earrings. He is inspired by the upholstery of seats to create 3D printed jewelry upholstered in apple cloth.

BETWEEN CRAFT AND DIGITAL

Graduated from the Boulle school in 2004, the designer has always been sensitive to the prospective character of the luxury sector. He creates bridges between traditional craftsmanship and modern digital tools. Guillaume chose to collaborate with a company of haute-chapellerie, which is "E.P.V." Living Heritage Company. To showcase his cap, he works with a digital artist and offers on his Instagram account a filter in augmented reality.

One of its commitments is to manufacture its collection exclusively in France.

As part of France 2030, the French government, Bpifrance and Team France Export have decided to launch a new program, "Cultur'Export", dedicated to innovative companies in the cultural and creative industries (CCI). Guillaume Larquemain recently joined this program, which is reserved for 22 French brands, in order to develop its influence in the USA.

In constant search of new partner workshops, he has just received the label "Fabriqué à Paris" for his Mini Imperfecto. Beyond the apple canvas, Guillaume is interested in plant-based materials. In 2023, he will present his first ready-to-wear collection, to express his disruptive vision.
