Resident Profile - Steven Passaro

Ben Fourmi

Resident at Les Ateliers de Paris since September 2021, Steven Passaro graduated with a master's degree in men's fashion from the London College of Fashion. After walking the runway in London in January 2019, he launches his ready-to-wear house in September 2020 in France.

The collections are inspired by traditional English tailoring with a contemporary approach that creates new forms of masculinity. The pleats and folds translate a landscape of emotions. The manufacturing techniques are precise and the cuts clean.

Steven Passaro is committed and eco-responsible. He develops his collections virtually in 3D thanks to the digital tools CLO3D, thus avoiding waste related to fabrics and prototypes. The products are mainly made in France and he uses the NONA platform's dormant fabrics, a source of LVMH.

At the last Fashion Week in January 2023, Steven presented his "Waterboys" collection at the Palais de Tokyo, inspired by water as a metaphor for emotions and by 18th century romanticism. The fall-winter 2023 collection embodies this duality and explores the multiple faces of water. A deconstructed jacket with an open chest, covered in pleated tulle, suggests waves crashing on the shore. The result of constant research and mentoring, the collection is adorned with haute couture craftsmanship: hand-sewn embroidery, leather embellishments and silk organza overlays.
