BehaghelFoiny is a multidisciplinary design studio founded by Antoine Behaghel and Alexis Foiny in 2019. Born of a self-publishing approach to furniture, the studio has gradually structured itself around a research-based approach to design, which aims to grasp environmental issues through a festive and transgressive vision. BehaghelFoiny blends object design, space planning and image-making.

Alexis Foiny, winner of the Révélation Design de l'ADAGP 2021, and Antoine Behaghel, winner of the Prix COAL étudiant 2024, formed their duo at the Pli Public Workshop in Paris, at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal, where they exhibited their first furniture collection "Tubulures". Winning the exhibition's Special Prize, this experience led them to mount their first solo show at the Archik gallery in Marseille.

Represented by several international galleries, such as Galerie Philia (NY), Movimento Club (IT), and Adorno Design (NL), they take part in various design fairs such as Paris Design Week, Brussels Collectible Fair, Dubai Design Week and Milan Design Week. They also collaborate with cultural institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, and take part in group shows at contemporary art museums such as MAC VAL in Vitry-Sur-Seine and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris.

Through their projects, the duo seek to create experimental creative contexts to revisit the role of design in the age of societal and environmental issues. They develop industry-independent manufacturing processes, collaborate with artisans around local materials, co-create with actors outside the field of design, such as children, and also work alongside scientists and biologists.

These exchanges enable them to design chromatic, decorative and olfactory universes designed to arouse unprecedented emotions, such as joy and celebration, while tackling contemporary issues and problems.

Following Alexis Foiny's residency on Reunion Island through the Ateliers Médicis' Création en Cours program, in the form of a survey of the fragile flora of island environments, and Antoine Behaghel's winning of the student COAL Prize for his project in partnership with the Réserves Naturelles de France on photosynthetic marine plants, the duo aims to deepen their collaborations with specialized scientists and biologists to nurture their research projects around biodiversity. By moving the tools of scientific visualization and archiving into the decorative arts through furniture and interior design projects, BehaghelFoiny aims to re-enchant the living world through the work of ornament and color.
