As part of its international exchange programs with Japan, the BDMMA hosted an exhibition featuring a selection of craft companies from the KANSAI region, in conjunction with the METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) office in Kansai.

Since 2020, METI's regional office has been actively supporting twelve brands (a region characterized by a specific craft or industrial sector) in their international development through promotional activities, exchanges and meetings in Japan and abroad.

At this exhibition, 8 companies representing 5 brands were present:

  • Banshu-ori fabrics (Hyogo)
  • Awaji incense (Hyogo)
  • Senshu towels (Osaka)
  • Ceramics from Shigaraki (Shiga)
  • Wakayama knitwear (Wakayama)

In each of these regions, craftsmanship and a taste for excellence are passed on and perpetuated throughout the manufacturing processes. This exhibition highlighted the specificities of these producers.
