Michel Bouvet's "I Love the Beatles" Exhibition

- Type of event Exhibition
- Date February 19–22, 2026
The exhibition I Love the Beatles brings together a series of thirty-three illustrations, each inspired by an iconic Beatles song. Each work is associated with a song and designed as a visual interpretation of it. For Michel Bouvet, this series is a return to his roots and a sensory memory—that of adolescence, of discovering the stage, of pop energy. It forms a visual, intimate, and joyful score, evoking a time when music, not social media, shaped communities: concert halls, independent radio stations, record stores, posters in the streets. The Beatles are here a shared language, common ground.
In pictures
In I Love the Beatles, the artist rediscovers this primitive energy: translating sound into images, emotion into symbols. Michel Bouvet revisits four decades of visual practices: flat colors outlined in black, Sixties typography, saturated compositions, photographic collages, and discreet graphic quotations. The images reveal silhouettes, places, and totemic objects (guitars, vinyl records, dreamlike creatures, psychedelic textures). Some illustrations are lighthearted and playful (Lovely Rita, Paperback Writer), others melancholic (Blackbird, The Long and Winding Road) or incantatory (Revolution 1, Come Together).
On the occasion of this exhibition, Michel Bouvet will present Backstage, an autobiographical account drawn from forty years of diaries and personal notes, which reveals the behind-the-scenes story of his creative process through encounters, travels, and previously unpublished working documents.
