Parce qu'il faisait beau by Mérigot Sanzay
- Type of event Exhibition
- Date 11 > 13.10.2024
Parce qu'il faisait beau is an exhibition that offers a silent exploration of the emotions that shape our relationship with loss and memory. It reveals the multiple and unspeakable facets of pain, nostalgia and resilience, while highlighting the fragility and strength of attachment. Conceived as a personal reliquary, the exhibition offers a space where memory is discreetly deposited, evoking reparation through artistic creation and the immortality of remembrance.
The Mérigot Sanzay textile workshop designs and manufactures works for interiors, to build pleasant, comfortable environments in which we feel good.
Behind Mérigot Sanzay is Diane Collongues, master craftswoman and textile enthusiast. With a degree in textile design from Ensaama, she went on to train in haute lice tapestry at the Manufacture des Gobelins.
In 2021, Diane set up her own workshop. She chose the name in homage to her grandmothers, who passed on to her a fascination for handmade work.
With textiles as the vehicle for her sensibility, she invests in a variety of formats to best speak of what is not revealed, what remains buried.
"I like to build comforting interiors. My universe is inspired by melancholy feelings, consoled by material and color: my works are cathartic. Textile is a medium for emotion, it's reassuring and enveloping."
