JN. Mellor Club

JN. Mellor Club is a love story. That of Karine Arabian and Franck Blais. The shoe designer and the set designer/gallery owner worked a few steps away from each other. They crossed paths and it was love at first sight! They wanted to create a commun project by combining their talents and expertise. The JN. Mellor Club was born, a bridge between fashion, design and art.

In 2019, the duo presents its first pieces at the Révélations trade fair: starting with a reflection on the bag and the shoe, they exhibit enigmatic objects that attract attention. From there, they give free rein to their inspiration, imagining a vegetable-tanned leather bag from dormant stocks that borrows its line from the lifting bags found on building sites.

Their Fluffy bag is a pocket inspired by kraft shopping bags, cut from beautiful leathers, a luxury doudou. Karine and Franck have also explored building sites to collect rubble that they have dressed with orthopaedic foam and beautiful leathers. This resulted in objects that became installations during the Émergences design biennial in Pantin.

This singularity, they explain with one voice: "At our age, we have a maturity that allows us to break out of the shackles. We feel free to blur the boundaries between disciplines." To help people understand their approach, they hope to soon inaugurate a place that will be both a boutique and a workshop, a place of convergence.
