Alice Dever at Jennifer Chambaret

“It was in August 2025 that Jennifer Chambaret asked me to join her in participating in the Prix Savoir-Faire en Transmission.”
After earning her high school diploma in 2019, Alice Dever went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Sorbonne. In September 2023, following a gap year, she enrolled in the fashion design program at Atelier Chardon Savard.
Her passion for patternmaking led her to take an internship at the Chambaret studio as a patternmaking assistant during her first year. From the very first weeks, she was convinced she had found her calling: working with fabric, understanding volumes, adjustments, and construction techniques immediately captivated her.

At Jennifer Chambaret’s workshop, Alice primarily assists with the assembly of complex pieces and the development of certain designs, sometimes revising the patterns to achieve the desired result. This collaboration allows her to refine her technical skills while developing greater precision in the execution and analysis of garments. Working with Jennifer has been a particularly formative experience for Alice. She generously shares her expertise and possesses remarkable technical mastery, always paying close attention to the smallest details.
“This experience allows me not only to hone my patternmaking and garment-making skills, but also to build relationships with customers.”
At the same time, Alice has started taking on freelance projects, producing small batches for a few brands. This experience marks an important step in her professional development and reinforces her desire to build a long-term career in the fashion and artisanal sectors.
