Caroline Jamous

Initially trained in design at the École Boulle, Caroline Jamous discovered Urushi lacquer during a long stay in Japan. She learned to work with this vegetable material for three years, at ENSAAMA and then in several craftsmen's workshops.

A lacquer thickens over time, to the rhythm of slow, repeated gestures. Through this practice, she seeks to create objects whose discreet poetry is perceived in the course of everyday gestures. Kintsugi, pierced bowls, sacred objects to be manipulated, floating papers; her works, mobile in space, reveal the beauty that inhabits her.
