Lucie Touré
At the age of five, Lucie Touré already had a passion for manual activities, taking drawing classes and excelling in origami. It was therefore quite natural for her to take an applied arts baccalaureate, and in 2006 she entered the Duperré School, obtaining a diploma in embroidery. In 2008 she entered the Ensad Paris, where she trained for four years in textile and material design.
"I've always had an affinity for craftsmanship and fashion. But after a stint at Sonia Rykiel, I realized I was spending more time behind a computer than creating. So I joined an embroidery workshop. I spent three years there and then went freelance," explains Lucie.
This career path enabled him to experiment with different sectors and materials. Paper gradually became her favorite playground. She decided to dedicate herself to it in 2018 by setting up her own company. That year, she also took up a residency at Les Ateliers de Paris. "My aim was to install my universe, to make paper unrecognizable by combining it with techniques from the world of textiles.I wanted to make it as usable in interior architecture as it is for clothing, accessories, window decorations... always with a very luxury angle," she explains.
Among the brands that have noticed her is Guerlain, which has ordered 7,000 ornaments to decorate a limited edition perfume bottle. She is currently preparing panels to decorate an ocean liner. Lucie is also looking at leather and wood, even though she knows that she still has a lot to invent with paper...
