Agnès Sevestre is the founder of the jewelry and objects brand A.S. Bronze d'art. Based in the Cité des Taillandiers (11th arrondissement), the art chaser is dedicated to transmitting and promoting this artisanal know-how through introductory activities and highly desirable creations

In her Paris workshop, using custom-forged tools, she shapes and deforms the material using ancestral chasing techniques, which, under her fingers, give rise to resolutely contemporary jewels, sculptures and ornaments. With only 150 craftsmen still practicing this art in France, Agnès stresses the importance of passing it on and modernizing it:

" This technique, which originated in antiquity, has seen few innovations apart from 3D printing, which saves time on certain parts".

A passionate craftswoman, Agnès chose " almost at random " to specialize in bronzerie d'art - chasing, turning and mounting - when she applied to the École Boulle. " In the end, I was accepted, and it's been my job for a long time now. That's the story. It was during internships with goldsmiths, bronziers and foundrymen that she finally fell in love with the craft. She perfected her skills in various workshops for over three years before setting up her own business in 2018.

Since then, Agnès has developed her own creations and opened her own online boutique. Convinced of the ability of arts and crafts to create social links, she also offers introductory chasing workshops in collaboration with associations that work with specific target groups.

Involved in local life, the craftswoman can't imagine herself anywhere else but Paris:

"There's a strong connection between creators and many schemes are set up by the City. My colleagues in the regions say they can feel alone and don't know where to turn. That's not my case at all.

However, like many independent craftsmen, Agnès lacks the time to make her customers aware of the importance of local manufacturing.

" The label is a crucial support for us. It's also a mechanism that opens me up to innovation and to the other professions of the label holders. And the association does a fantastic job! "

A master craftswoman since 2021, Agnès continues her commitment to passing on and raising awareness of craftsmanship: " When you know how to make something, you have a different relationship to the object and to consumption ".
