Based in his Paris workshop for the past three years, Martin Beaune embodies a new generation of cabinetmakers who combine exacting craftsmanship, a love of materials and environmental awareness. Trained at the École Boulle, he completed his studies with a specialization in art furniture restoration. It was a decisive step that gave him access to ancient skills that had sometimes fallen into oblivion.

"Initially, I wanted to create, but restoration opened up a fascinating world for me. Each piece of furniture tells a story".

After some experience in various workshops, he soon decided to set up his own structure : "I wanted to work on projects that really concerned me". In his workshop, Martin restores both classic pieces (Louis XV or Louis XVI) and icons of modern design. Each project is carried out with respect for period techniques and the principle of reversibility.

Martin's approach is resolutely responsible: reuse of wood recovered from bulky waste, collaboration with a sawmill in Sologne, rigorous choice of solvents and materials.

"I take care to use alternatives to solvents and paint strippers whenever possible".

A lover of European woods such as oak, chestnut and olive, he also explores current trends such as live edge. Curious and open-minded, the cabinetmaker thrives on collaboration. With graffiti artist Lasco, he is currently developing a project combining leather, wood and urban art, in which revisited cave paintings are displayed on a desk top.

"What interests me is the encounter between practices and materials, which opens up unexpected paths.

While he responds to 90% of customer requests, he also devotes time to his own creations. The recycled wood coffee table, designed for his own use, was noticed by visitors to the workshop and turned into a real series.

"This type of table can be industrialized more easily and allows me to open up my business beyond catering."

In 2025, this piece was awarded the Fabriqué à Paris label and the "Coup de cœur des Parisiens" prize.

Martin Beaune is very attached to his hometown, and through his craft he asserts his local roots.

"I grew up in Paris, it's a city I love and I can't see myself working anywhere else. The Fabriqué à Paris label allows me to be part of a creative ecosystem and to meet other artisans".
