Valérie De Rossi is an artisan leatherworker and founder of the La Baïta brand in 2010. Driven by a passion for materials and shapes, she continues to innovate and produce quality items in her boutique-atelier in the 20th arrondissement.

Before discovering her passion for leather goods, Valérie worked for 12 years as a preparation assistant in a pharmacy, before enrolling for a CAP in leather goods in Paris. This reconversion, fraught with difficulties, nevertheless enabled her to find her place in several companies in the sector. A year later, on the strength of this experience, she created her own brand: La Baita.

"I had to come up with a name very quickly, and La Baïta is a family memory that means Chalet in Italian. It reminded me of comfort, family and the object we pass on.

Driven by a desire to pass on and share, Valérie regularly organizes leatherwork workshops to raise public awareness of her work, know-how and expertise.

The designer must also renew and innovate to meet customer demands. She is therefore looking to reduce her production costs and develop a customizable offer, such as belts.

She loves to play with shapes and materials, and doesn't hesitate to repair her customers' worn-out bags to give them a second life.

The Fabriqué à Paris label has enhanced the value of her products since the creation of her company in 2017. This label enables her to highlight her work and know-how, the authenticity of her products and also to maintain a relationship of trust with her customers.

"It's a plus! Some people come because they've seen the label on the networks or on the website! "
