In the heartheart of Paris, Catherine Jolivet, creatoreatrice of La Nouvelle Vague Couleurs opens the doors of her studio whereù are created, a tribute to the colors and emotions of everyday life.

Inspired by New Wave cinema and its bold hues, Catherine chose the name in homage to this movement that renewed the 7th art: "I wanted to infuse this spirit of renewal and creative freedom into the rather traditional world of watercolors".
Born of a personal passion and a need to create during confinement, her brand of handmade watercolors offers unique, carefully crafted hues for amateurs and artists alike.

Her watercolors, created with pigments from Luberon ochre, Finistère honey and natural binders, offer a dense, slightly powdery texture, inviting experimentation. For Catherine, watercolor is a philosophy: "Watercolor can't be mastered; choosing this medium means accepting the unknown, and that there may be surprises".
Spontaneity she also passes on to her customers, offering a wide collection inspired by literature, nature or cinema in unexpected hues, designed to awaken their own creativity.

An artisan of the "Made in Paris" label since 2023, she promotes local know-how:

"To be here is to give life to Paris as a creative capital and to show that craftsmanship can thrive here.

The "Fabriqué à Paris" label underlines our commitment to local production in the heart of Paris. This label reinforces the authentic character of our buckets and their link with Parisian know-how, while meeting the growing expectations of consumers in search of responsible, local production.

For the future, Catherine Jolivet hopes that Nouvelle Vague will continue to blend craftsmanship and innovation, and encourage creative freedom.
