Papier Tigre is a stationery brand that manufactures and creates made-to-measure products in Paris. Originally based in the Marais district, the studio and workshop are now located on the banks of the Canal Saint Martin. It is in this inspiring setting that Julien Crespel and Maxime Brenon, the founders of Papier Tigre, are pursuing this exciting project that puts a fresh spin on paper craftsmanship.

Julien and Maxime complement each other in their respective backgrounds, Maxime coming from a marketing background, while Julien, his partner, is deeply creative. For his part, he had founded his own communications and branding agency.

"We intertwined our experiences to build Papier Tigre and dust off this stationery universe that was so dull."

@Matthieu Gauchet

Since 2012, Papier Tigre has been shaking up the codes of traditional stationery. The brand imagines and manufactures innovative, durable and colorful stationery items. Each product is designed in-house by a team of talented graphic artists and designers, then manufactured locally in the Paris workshopusing recycled paper and responsible materials. The brand recently became part of the Exacompta Clairefontaine group, an emblematic reference in French stationery. This local, on-demand production gives the brand great responsiveness, total creative freedom and a strong commitment to sustainable production.

Beyond France, Papier Tigre is also present in the United States and Japan, where the brand has met with great success thanks to its singular graphic universe and French know-how. In addition, Papier Tigre regularly collaborates with cultural institutions, brands and events to offer bold, unique limited editions.

"Papier Tigre embodies a new generation of stationery: local, committed, joyful and resolutely creative."

@Matthieu Gauchet

Papier Tigre stationery received the Fabriqué à Paris designation as soon as the label was created, in 2018.

"It's a label that means a lot to us, because it rewards our local commitment. It gives us real credibility, even internationally. Abroad, particularly in Japan and the United States, the fact that our products are made in Paris carries enormous weight; it opens doors and inspires confidence."

@Matthieu Gauchet

The Fabriqué à Paris label has a strong symbolic value for this team, who have relaunched production in the Marais district, where workshops had all but disappeared in favor of luxury boutiques. They now produce at the Clairefontaine factory, which is the largest industrial site still active in Paris intra-muros.

"We're very proud to contribute, in our own small way, to reindustrializing the town and maintaining real local know-how."
