PRAIS Atelier Aymeric le Deun - Decorative objects fashion fabric

In the PRAIS workshop, located in the heart of Paris's 13th arrondissement, button-maker Aymeric Le Deun and his team cover buttons with fabric every day. With specialized engineering studies in the garment industry and experience working for major fashion houses, Aymeric founded his "emergency" workshop to supply made-to-measure buttons.
"I had noticed that in collections, buttons and zips of the right color were often missing at the last minute. Most houses needed someone who had mastered the level of technique demanded by luxury."

Aymeric Le Deun, heir to a decades-old tradition, is the only artisan button-maker in France, and makes each and every one of his pieces using second-hand materials and bought-in stock. In his workshop, he prepares the fabrics that will cover the buttons, and adapts to each project, even those that challenge him.
"I've already had requests for buttons covered in toilet paper, eggshells or survival blankets, so you have to adapt and be efficient.
Virtually self-taught, Aymeric knows how to handle fabric with delicacy and meticulous technique. The button reveals itself in different forms, from wood effects to rose thorns. This singular work allows him to deal with different universes and perfect his know-how.

"We're chameleons, we have to feel the universe before it's expressed to us."
Today, in collaboration with major institutions, Aymeric has been awarded the "Fabriqué à Paris en 2025" label, which highlights a little-known but very useful know-how in haute-couture.
