Originally from Berlin, ceramist Ulrike Weiss moved to Paris to develop her unique expertise, combining fine materials and inspirations drawn from nature and 20th-century design.
Ulrike Weiss moved to Paris in 1982 and joined the Centre Artisanal Céramique at the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in 1984. After graduating, she decided to set up her studio in the Bastille district. Today, it is still located in the same building, acquired by the City of Paris and fully renovated in 2021 to become the Cité Artisanale des Taillandiers.
"This site is a fine example of the neighborhood's industrial heritage".

The German ceramist finds her inspiration in nature, as well as in design from the 1950s to the 1970s. It is through pure forms that she guarantees the durability of her creations. In her studio, Ulrike creates and manufactures containers in very fine stoneware and tiles in lava stone. These contemporary objects are intended for everyday use and architectural elements.

The choice of materials used in his creations is no accident.
"My materials are very white stoneware for its finesse, lava stone for its minerality and ceramic enamel for protection and for the colors and surfaces it imparts to objects."
Ulrike also enjoys teaching and sharing her skills, and regularly organizes workshops in her studio.

Loyal to the Fabriqué à Paris label, Ulrike Weiss was part of the first edition of certified artisans.
"For my company, the label represents the satisfaction of being one of the growing number of craftsmen working in Paris."

Ulrike exhibits and sells her work in a small showroom attached to her studio, and at public shows in France and abroad.
