"I've had the opportunity to discover several different media, embroidery scales and materials. These experiments will give me a mastery of gestures and confirm my desire to be a multidisciplinary craftswoman by freeing me from my school reflexes". - Rose Marit

Graduating in embroidery in 2022 from La Source school in Nogent-sur-Marne, Rose Marit completed several internships in the studios of Flory Brisset in 2017 and Lucie Touré in 2020, before meeting textile designer Marie Berthouloux, founder of Ekceli studio, who offered her a 4-month internship in September 2022.

The Ekceli studio specializes in textile goldsmithing, a practice characterized by metallic embroidery and the transformation of materials. The company offers 3 main services: customized services for interior design, visual merchandising and packaging in the luxury range, the development of artistic practice through the creation of bodies of work, and teaching in higher art schools and to the general public.

The studio regularly welcomes interns and freelancers to support the development of its bespoke services business and the preparation of trade shows.

Winner of the 2023 Savoir-faire en transmission awards, Rose is continuing this experience by doing an internship with Marie to deepen her knowledge of embroidery, follow every stage from design to production, use new materials, know how to prepare and manufacture them, and discover the structural activities of a craft business (communication, management, sales prospecting, order management, etc.).

"After my training, I wanted to practice a lot more, which is what led me to apply for the Prize. Working in a small organization gives me an in-depth view of the many aspects of this profession".

For Rose, in addition to learning new techniques and developing skills in the company's structural activities, the internship is also an opportunity to enrich her work on personal projects. "An internship should give you the opportunity to develop your personal project. Marie gives me time to embroider at home".

Rose is already looking to the future. "What I'm most looking forward to, from January 2024, is continuing my training in embroidery workshops to learn other techniques".

"Rose created her textile collection to canvass customers after her internship. In fact, she's starting to get some. We've already set in motion the creation of the micro-enterprise!"
